Stephanie Moore MBE set up the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK in 1993, following the death of her football world cup winning husband, Bobby Moore OBE, from bowel cancer. The Fund raises money to fund cutting edge bowel cancer research, and also raises awareness of the high-risk symptoms of the disease. 44 men and women die from bowel cancer each day in the UK, but if diagnosed early enough, more than 9 out of 10 cases are treatable.
