RACECOURSE 2014: THE FINISH WILL BE FROM PIAZZA VENEZIA TO THE FORI IMPERIALI
Acea Maratona di Roma 2014 racecourse has some news compared to the last editions. Due to the roadway downsizing and the high number of registrations, the start and the finish line will be in Via dei Fori Imperiali but about three hundred meters further than previous editions, at the Foro di Traiano / Campidoglio. The start will be in the direction of Piazza Venezia (as usual) while the finish will be in the opposite direction.
The course, sliding average, includes 77 changes of direction (no elbows) and approximately 7.6 km of cobblestones. The half marathon mark is set at Via della Giuliana. The course touches many of the most important and famous Rome landmarks, among them: the transit at Via Nazionale and Largo Magnanapoli (km 41.5 with the sight of the Quirinale on the right). In order to guarantee technical and medical assistance to runners and public, the racecourse segment of Fontana di Trevi was removed. On Sunday, March 23rd everybody wearing the Maratona di Roma and the RomaFun – La Stracittadina bib will ride public transportation for free.
