RUN FOR CHARITY
Maratona di Roma hosts dozens of runners (and thousands of fun-runners) who choose to make their Rome-experience more meaningful by running on behalf of a charity.
In this page there are the charities committed in the 42k, and the associations and organizations cooperating with us in order to increase the social positive impacts of the marathon.
Run...for a good cause!
It’s simple, just bring along an old mobile when you collect your bib number at the Marathon Village and help us raise money for charity in collaboration with Redeem.
With 100 million phones sold every year, thousands of unwanted phones are left unused , while others go in the bin causing enormous environmental damage.
Instead put your old mobile to good use. Bring them along between March 18-20, and deposit them in one of our boxes. Redeem will either fix minor faults so they can be used in developing countries, or recycle them and donate at least EUR1.00 to our charities for each phone collected.
Since 1999, Redeem has saved the environment 50,000 tons of polluting waste and has contributed EUR 5,000,000 for non-profit and charitable associations.
If each runner brings at least one phone we'll reach our target and give a real boost to our charity partners .
